ResourcesForLife.com – News 201109 | 30 September 2011 | Friday

Dear Friend,

I know that time is precious for everyone these days, so I’ll try to keep this update short. The approximate reading time is about 5 minutes. Feel free to reduce your reading time even more by skipping over topics that don’t interest you.

Personal Update. My Personal Update for September is now available.

Facebook. If we’re not already connected on Facebook, I invite you to visit my page and send me a friend request.

Shop, Support, Repeat. Please visit our site and click the Amazon logo in the right column to shop and have a portion of the profits support our work. Thanks!

Radio Interview. On September 10, I was interviewed live by ABC News Radio of Australia. You can visit the interview page to hear the interview.

Workshops. In September I began providing Technology Training Workshops at the Iowa City Public Library. The next workshop will be Technology Workshop and Training – Friday – 7 October 2011 at the ICPL. For an example from the past workshop (in audio recordings), click here to learn about the September 26 workshop. These are different than the previous classes I taught, because these new workshops are on topics requested by attendees rather than a narrow and pre-defined topic.

Store & Advertising. When you shop at our Amazon store or visit Amazon using our affiliate link, it helps generate revenue for the site. In addition to Amazon, the store page on our site has expanded greatly to include various shopping categories where you can find direct merchant links. The website also has content aware and context sensitive ads that are usually quite interesting and relevant to what’s on our site (I often find myself clicking on them to learn more). So, please make use of these resources when practical to help contribute financially to ResourcesForLife.com.

Updated Menus. If you’ve not been to the site for a while, you’ll notice updated menus at the top of the page. Some expand with drop-down options. This is to help make site navigation easier.

New Articles. During the month of September, about 30 articles were added to the site on a variety of topics. I encourage you to visit the Documents Page to view the latest updates to the site. Or, simply refer to the article title links in the right column under the Recent Documents heading. Here are a few of the new articles and documents that I’d like to highlight from this past month:

Heart Songs. The Heart Songs selections for September 2011 are now available on iTunes. Using iTunes you can listen to previews that are 1 minute and 30 seconds long. This month, a collection of classical folk guitar instrumentals from Gustavo Santaolalla have been selected. Some of these are songs from movie soundtracks such as Motorcycle Diaries, Things We Lost in the Fire, Biutiful, and Nanga Parbat. Others were produced separately.

Thanks. I want to thank the global team of volunteers, contributors, and workers “behind the scenes” who help make all this possible. I’m very grateful to the many people who continue to uphold and advance the mission of Resources for Life. Thanks again for your support. Please let me know if there is any way that Resources for Life can serve you better.

Regards,
Greg
