The latest advertisement from Buick (shown below) proclaims: “The Next Big Thing in Luxury is Small.” The smaller is better message is increasingly finding its way into mainstream culture as a shifting undercurrent to the bigger is better mindset of another era.

The description on Buick’s YouTube channel reads: “The age of the over-sized luxury car is about to give way to a smarter, more nimble breed. Introducing the all-new Buick Encore in its first TV commercial. Clearly, the next big thing in luxury is small. Discover the Encore.”
