Wal-Mart Live Better Campaign Sustainability and Health

Effective Living

Summary. In April 2007 Wal-Mart introduced the Sustainability branch of their Live Better Campaign. The Live Better Index looks at consumer spending habits and preferences to make observations about the collective consumer consciousness. Regarding the sustainability index:

“At the six month mark of the Index, updated October 17 2007, adoption rates for eco-friendly products are up overall, showing that customers are embracing eco-friendly product options.”

At the center of the Live Better campaign is the promise to offer valuable savings to the consumer. From the Save Money Live Better webpage:

“Save Money. Live Better” is more than a new advertising line – it speaks directly to Wal-Mart’s efforts since the very beginning.   Sam Walton said many years ago, “If we work together, we’ll lower the cost of living for everyone…we’ll give the world an opportunity to see what it’s like to have a better life.”
