Dear Friend,
I hope you’re doing well. Thanks for taking time to read this month’s newsletter. To get notified when newsletters become available, please click here.
Personal Update
My Personal Update for June is now available. If we’re not already connected on Facebook, I invite you to Like my page and also visit my AboutGregJohnson.com website. I’m slowly shifting from Facebook and other social media to putting content on my personal website where people can signup for updates. To signup to receive monthly notifications from me, please click here.
What’s New
This year I’ve re-launched a site page called What’s New for new content and changes to the website. Check it out for a quick look at all the new site content.
Podcast
In April, I created a new podcast for those who prefer listening to their information rather than (or in addition to) reading articles and watching videos. The podcast is called Walk and Talk with Greg Johnson. You can pick and choose the shows by topic. You can also subscribe or listen with Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, or Spotify. In May, I created 23 new podcast episodes. In June, I created a few more episodes. You can see them listed on the What’s New page at ResourcesForLife.com/new or the Podcast page.
Topics and Writings
You can read the latest writings on the What’s New page. In addition to some technical support writings, I’m adding videos that I think are worth watching.
Heart Songs
This month’s Heart Songs selections both feature Marc Anthony. For the full effect, you’ll want to listen on a good stereo system or nice set of headphones. I like the diversity of people in the videos who are young and old, and of many different ethnicities and nationalities.
“Vivir Mi Vida” with Marc Anthony
The first music video is “Vivir Mi Vida.” The message of the song is hopeful and inspiring. It’s a video that was featured in the May 2015 newsletter, but I wanted to share it again. The English translation of the song is found below.
“Vivir Mi Vida” – English Translation
I’m gonna laugh, I’m gonna dance
[I’m gonna] live my life, la, la, la, la
I’m gonna laugh, I’m gonna enjoy
live my life, la, la, la, la
Sometimes rain comes
to clean wounds
Sometimes just a drop
can overcome the drought
And why cry, for what?
If it hurts bad, forget it
And why suffer, for what?
If life is like this, you must live it
I’m gonna laugh, I’m gonna dance
live my life, la, la, la, la
I’m gonna laugh, I’m gonna enjoy
live my life, la, la, la, la
I’m gonna live in the moment
to understand the fate
I’m gonna listen in silence
to find the way
And why cry, for what?
If it hurts bad, forget it
And why suffer, for what?
If it hurts bad, forget it
I’m gonna laugh, I’m gonna dance
live my life, la, la, la, la
I’m gonna laugh, I’m gonna enjoy
live my life, la, la, la, la
My people!
I’m gonna laugh, I’m gonna dance
Why mourn? Why suffer?
Start dreaming, laughing
I’m gonna laugh, I’m gonna dance
Feel and dance and enjoy,
you only live once
I’m gonna laugh, I’m gonna dance
Live, always keep moving forward
Don’t look back
My people, you only live once
I’m gonna laugh, I’m gonna dance
live my life, la, la, la, la
I’m gonna laugh, I’m gonna enjoy
live my life, la, la, la, la
“La Gozadera” with Gente de Zona and Marc Anthony
The music video “La Gozadera” is a celebration of the various countries of Latin America.
“La Gozadera” – English Translation
Miami confirmed it for me
People of the area!
Puerto Rico gave it to me
Miami confirmed it for me
People of the area!
Puerto Rico gave it to me
Marc Anthony
Dominican Republic already sounded
And you and I are from the Caribbean
And the party was formed, Miami confirmed it for me
And the rice with beans, Puerto Rico gave it to me
And the merengue bass drum, the Dominican Republic already sounded
With Mexico, Columbia and Venezuela
And you and I are from the Caribbean
Sounding!
The thing is rather wild, the thing is divine
Peru with Honduras, Chile with Argentina
Panama brings the zandunga, Ecuador the bilirubin**
And Uruguay with Paraguay, brother with Costa Rica
Bolivia is coming, Brazil is already on the way
The world is joining the Latino people
And the party was formed, Miami confirmed it for me
And the rice with beans, Puerto Rico gave it to me
And the merengue bass drum, the Dominican Republic already sounded
With Mexico, Columbia and Venezuela
And you and I are from the Caribbean
And the party was formed, Miami confirmed it for me
And the rice with beans, Puerto Rico gave it to me
And the merengue bass drum, the Dominican Republic already sounded
With Mexico, Columbia and Venezuela
And you and I are from the Caribbean
Marc Anthony!
Let’s go Guatemala, the party waits for you
Call Nicaragua, El Salvador cuts in line
I sing from Cuba and the world understands
If you are Latino, take out your flag
Where?
And the party was formed, Miami confirmed it for me
And the rice with beans, Puerto Rico gave it to me
And the merengueran bass drum, the Dominican Republic already sounded
With Mexico, Columbia and Venezuela
And you and I are from the Caribbean
And the party was formed, Miami confirmed it for me
And the rice with beans, Puerto Rico gave it to me
(Puerto Rican)
And the merengue bass drum, the Dominican Republic already sounded
With Mexico, Columbia and Venezuela
And you and I are from the Caribbean
For the partners, let’s go
What’s up, dude?
Nobody takes us down from here
Put it there
Look how I enjoy myself
I told you
People of the area!
You know
The best thing that sounds today.
Thanks!
I want to thank the global team of volunteers, contributors, and workers “behind the scenes” who help make all this possible. I’m very grateful to the many people who continue to uphold and advance the mission of Resources for Life. Thanks again for your support. Please let me know if there is any way that Resources for Life can serve you better.
Regards,
Greg
