WPA2 Support for Windows XP, Wireless Networking Security

Technology

Problem. Many Windows XP computers do not have support for WPA2 wireless security. At present, WPA2 is the most secure wireless networking protocol. This is a problem for people needing access to som enterprise wireless networks. Previous wireless security systems such as WEP have proven to no longer be as secure. Articles have been written describing how these networks can easily be broken into. [See ZDNET blog entry “Hack most wireless LANs in minutes!” published by by George Ou on March 11th, 2005].

Solution. To install WPA2 support for Windows XP, the WPA2 update for Windows XP is available from Microsoft as well as a lengthy description of the update.
