Palm T|X Hard Case Makes Rattling Noises

Technology

Summary. Some owners of the Palm Tungsten T|X and hard case enclosure may notice when the Palm device is in the case and the case is closed, it rattles around which is kind of annoying.

Solution. Small rubber clear cushion “feet” can be purchased from Radio Shack (item 64-2365) and placed on the inside of the case that faces the front of the Palm device. Place the rubber foot sticky side up on the Palm unit just above the Address Book/Contacts button. This is the flat surface area below the lower right corner of the screen. When the case is closed, the sticky side of the rubber foot will stick inside the case. Now, when the case is closed, the rubber foot will gently press against the surface above the Address Book/Contacts button providing the perfect amount of snug fit required to keep the unit from rattling in its case. Another foot can be added to the top of the unit if necessary. Be careful that the rubber feet do not touch the screen (which might smudge it) and that they don’t touch any of the buttons (which might turn the unit on when the case is closed).
