Retroactive Retrospective – Music Video Slide Show

Gregory Johnson

Summary. This is a music video combining the photography and music of Gregory Johnson. The music, Retroactive Retrospective, is a departure from previous styles of music composed by Gregory Johnson. It is perhaps his most complex and audibly dense composition to date. It contains over 15 different textural sounds and effects from the collection of stock audio available with the GarageBand software from Apple. The primary instrumental sound is a synthesizer that he customized within GarageBand. His playing of this instrument is against a diverse canvas of layered sounds including a helicopter and a custom industrial techno rhythm that was produced by trimming the Booming Reverse 1 effect, then repeating it over and over. The overall mood is ominous, yet forward moving.

Instructions for High Quality. As the video begins playing, be sure to click the triangle (options button) in the lower right corner of the video player controls area and select HQ for the High Quality version of the video. This will dramatically improve the picture and audio quality. For the best audio experience, use high quality headphones or a high fidelity speaker system.
