Review. “I purchased the Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB Headphones on 17 December 2008 for voice speech recognition and was delighted to discover that the clarity and accuracy of the microphone results in close to 100% voice recognition accuracy when used with the free speech recognition included with Microsoft Office. The built-in mute feature really helps with voice recognition, making it possible to turn off the microphone when not speaking. The sound quality is amazingly similar to $300 headphones I’ve used. For example, the bass is deep and crisp when listening to songs such as Ride Across the River by Dire Straits (iTunes), I Don’t Care Anymore by Phil Collins (iTunes), or Two Worlds by Phil Collins (iTunes). The quality of recording for spoken language is great. The microphone works very well for live music recording when placed close to the instrument being recorded, at least when I tested it using a John Stillwell Lakota Flue. The built-in volume control actually adjusts the computer’s volume rather than just altering the sound going to the headphones. This is a great benefit and ensures that the headphone volume is consistent with the computer’s volume setting. Another advantage of this headset is that it has a USB connection and requires no special software for Windows or Apple.
