HP Photosmart 2510 all-in-one Printing Problem

Technology

Problem. The HP Photosmart 2510 all-in-one printer no longer prints using the wireless printing feature.

Cause. Your wireless computer may have inadvertently connected to another network nearby. You’ll need to ensure that you are connecting with the router that was originally used to configure the printer. If this doesn’t help, it may be that you need the latest printer software.

Solution. If it is necessary to install the latest software from HP for the printer, it will probably be necessary to have an Ethernet cable during the software setup. During installation, you will be prompted by the software to connect the printer to the router. The latest software for Windows XP is available on the HP website (here). Software for other versions of Windows is also available (here). It is best to download the full version which is about 367 MB. When installed the software expands to about 700 MB. The full version allows for more advanced use and configuration of the printer. During the installation, the setup software may not find the printer until the printer is (temporarily) connected to the wireless router using an Ethernet cable. It may take a few minutes for the printer to acquire a network address from the router. Be patient. It may also be necessary to cancel the installation, restart the computer, and start again.
