Remove Items From Apple Menu Bar

Problem. After purchasing a new mac and using the migration assistant to move applications, programs, files, and settings from an old computer to the new one, you may end up with icons in the menu bar area that are no longer applicable. For example, you may have had Bluetooth in your other computer, but don’t have it in the new one. If the Bluetooth icon is in the menu bar located in the upper right hand corner of the screen, you won’t be able to remove it from the System Preferences because there will be no listing for Bluetooth.

Solution. You must hold the command key (the Apple key) while you click and drag the icon away from the menu bar.
