The ResourcesForLife.com Virtual Meeting Center is a virtual meeting space for training, workshops, seminars, consultations, and remote user support. The remote user support feature can be used to fix computer problems remotely, and for offering personalized training on your computer. You can always come back to this page by clicking on the Meeting link at the top of the ResourcesForLife.com website.

Attending a Meeting. To attend an online meeting, simply go to the Virtual Meeting Center and click on a listed meeting. Some meetings are by invitation only and may require a password. Here are the detailed instructions.

  1. Go to the Virtual Meeting Center and click on the Session you intend to join.
  2. If prompted for a password, enter the password provided to you by a member of the ResourcesForLife.com support team. Then you can provide your name and email address. Press the Join Now button to join the meeting.
    • Apple computer users will get a Certificate message at this point. Click on the Trust button. You’ll get a message that says, “One Moment Please” and another that says, “Preparing Meeting Manager.” The Meeting Manager software will load. Continue to step #3.
    • Windows computer users will probably get a message stating, “Did you notice the Information Bar?”, click the Close button. Left click once on the yellow banner at the top of your browser window that says, “This website wants to install the following add-on: ‘WebEx Client’ from ‘WebEx Communications Inc.’. If you trust the website and the add-on and want to install it, click here…” From the menu that pops up, choose Install ActiveX Control. When you see, “Do you want to install this software?” click on the Install button. The Meeting Manager software will load. Continue to step #3.
  3. Click the OK button for the Join Teleconference window. You will now be in a virtual meeting.

Remote Support. To obtain remote computer support, follow these instructions.

  1. Contact the support team in advance to arrange for a support session. Once you are confirmed, go to the Virtual Meeting Center and click on the Private Support Session listed in the available meetings.
  2. If prompted for a password, enter the password provided to you by a member of the ResourcesForLife.com support team. Then you can provide your name and email address. Press the Join Now button to join the meeting.

The Meeting Manager software will load. Continue to step #3.
  3. Click the OK button for the Join Teleconference window. You will now be in a virtual meeting. The support person hosting the session will give you Presenter capabilities causing the icon next to your name to become a blue and green circle. This allows you to temporarily allow the support person to access your computer by following these two steps:
    1. Go to the Share menu, and choose Desktop (or press CTRL+ALT+D). This will let the support person view your computer.
    2. Left click on the WebEx Client Entry window to maximize it. Left click on the green button in the upper right of your screen that says Sharing. From the menu, choose Allow to Control Remotely and select the support person’s name.
  4. You can stop sharing any time by going to the sharing menu and selecting stop sharing. When your session is complete, go to the File menu and choose the option to Leave Meeting. The software will close out and You will be taken to an optional feedback page. To share access to the computer again, you would need to go through the above process again.
