Summary. The Human Race Nike+ 10K World Run Event will be held on 31 August 2008. Join runners from around the world for a 10K run.

Activism Impact. This event helps foster relationships and a sense of community in local cities, while also bringing together the world community. As such, it helps create a sense of connection among people around the world. Some of the proceeds from the event will be donated to one of three charities that each registered runner can choose from. They are: the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LiveStrong.org), the United Nations Refugee Agency (NineMillion.org), and the World Wildlife Foundation (Panda.org). Locations. Runners will participate from around the world, including group runs in 25 host cities including: AustinBogotáBuenos Aires,CaracasChicagoInstanbulLimaLondonLos AngelesMadridMelbourneMexico CityMount FujiMunich (München)New York CityParisQuitoRomeSão PauloSeoulShanghaiSingapore,TaipeiVancouver, and Warsaw (Warszawa). In addition to these sponsored cities, runners in other locations will be running on their own as well as with friends or local running clubs.

Largest Running Club in the World. The Nike+ running club is the world’s largest running club having over 67 million miles run collectively (as of 6 July 2008). In March 2008, Nike reported that the world running club members had exceeded 50,000,000 miles. “That’s 2,000 times around the globe. Or over 100 round trips to the moon.
